What exactly is a meditation oil

Meditation has gained in popularity over the years, with wellness having become even more topical as people have needed to find ways to cope with the unprecedented events of the last few years. Many different styles and branches exist, and finding the right style for you will have a lot to do with your own personal style and needs. An overworked introvert will benefit greatly from the act of sitting in silence while allowing their mind to come to stillness, whereas some people may benefit more from a mindful activity like peaceful gardening. Both are equally valid as they create space for connection with ourselves.

Meditation oils, then, can be used to enhance any activity where the intention is to reconnect to the self, quiet the mind and ground yourself into the present moment. The range of Vibe Alchemy Meditation Oils consists of essential oils selected for their ancient spiritual and alchemical associations, diluted in a blend of luxurious carrier oils selected for their energetic healing properties. Adding meditation oils to your practice can help enhance it in a number of ways, be it through providing a sensory stimulus to anchor the mind, benefitting from the neurotransmitter-releasing properties of the essential oils, or connecting to the many energetic properties of these powerful botanical extracts.

But Before We Start-Astrology

Before we jump in, you may be wondering whether you need to know much about astrology to benefit from these oils, and the answer is no definitely not! If you are into astrology, the very intentional design of these blends can help create a powerful connection to the energies of the cosmos <3

But at its heart, this product is about using the planet’s natural gifts to help you connect more deeply with yourself, which is something that anyone can do.

The carefully curated blends of oils have potent vibrational signatures, and have been used for thousands of years by our ancestors for physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Even without understanding the astrological connections, incorporating these oils into any wellness practice will help encourage relaxation, mindfulness and add a touch of extra magic to your wellness practice.

If you want to know more about the astrological uses, even some tips on where to start if you are interested but don’t know much about your astrology, then check out x. The below suggestions focus on product application, but using astrology for determining which oils to use and when will definitely help amplify the alchemical effects.

So without further ado, here are:

7 applications for your Vibe Alchemy Meditation Oils

1) Apply where you would put perfume

This one is pretty obvious, but a simple and very effective way to incorporate into both active and passive meditation is to apply your oil to pulse points (wrists, neck), on your mastoid bone (behind ears) and your chest. These areas have a high amount of blood flow, which is why we apply perfume there (the warmth of the blood flow helps project the scent of whatever you apply). If you are targeting energy bodies, these points also create a great entryway for the energetic properties of the oils for the same reason.

You can take this application to the next level by pausing and adding a bit of mindfulness as you anoint yourself. State your intent to connect with the energy (which could be the astrological sign of the chosen oil, the spirit of the plant/s whose essence is contained in the oil, or even just calling on the spiritual energies that are meaningful to you).

2) Use as a hand lotion

A few drops of the oil are beautiful massaged into the hands like you would hand lotion. You can apply pre meditation as above (although make sure you leave enough time for your hands to dry if it’s for something like yoga!). After you’ve massaged into your hands a little, take the opportunity to hover the hands in front of the face and inhale the scent mingled with the warmth of your energy radiating from your hands.

This is also a nice way to create a little mindful moment for yourself at any point through the day, maybe paired with an affirmation you’re working on.

3) Add to your moisturiser

A few drops blended with your face moisturiser can help add mindfulness to your morning or nighttime skincare ritual, as well as a great add-on to a Gua Sha, EFT or lymphatic drainage practice with the added energetic properties of the oils.

4) Apply all over your ears or your feet

The ears and feet (the hands too, actually) are incredibly dense in sensory neurons, and contain what Traditional Chinese Medicine refers to as “Microsystems”. Basically, for survival purposes, these organs are used by the body to collect information from our outer environment and send back to the brain for processing. The energetic version of this is that these organs provide mega access points for all the energy bodies (yes, there is more than one!).

Application of meditation oils to these spots can therefore be a great way to infuse your entire energetic field, allowing the benefits to flow quickly to where they are needed (if you are more sensitive to energy, may may actually feel a flush about 1-2 minutes after application to the ear).

This method is obviously preferable for stationary meditation rituals like seated meditation where the oil will have time to absorb and do its thing while you soak in the energetic benefits.

5) Enhance a journaling ritual

Journaling is an intensely powerful practice on its own, but creating a pre-journaling ritual can allow you to take it to the next level.

An intentionally-selected oil applied beforehand with an anointment ritual, along with a special pen/journal and your favourite alpha solfeggio frequency playing in the background is a great way to turn journaling into a sensory experience that can give you a few minutes respite no matter how busy life gets.

If you are new to journaling, crafting your special ritual and associating it to your practice can also help you with building the habit (particularly if you’re someone who struggles to just sit down and write).

6) Support and enhance energy healing

Energy work encompasses any modality that aims to unblock, balance and harmonise the body’s various energy fields (sometimes referred to as Chi, Prana, Aura, the human body is governed by a complex system of energetic fields). This could include acupuncture/acupressure, massage, reiki, shamanic healing, crystal healing, breath work and sound healing to name a few.

Different botanicals have different elemental energetic signatures, and differing energy bodies are ruled by the the various elements (if you learn a little bit about Ayurvedic or Traditional Chinese Medicines, you will quickly notice elements play a governing role for this reason). A little bit like the lock and key analogy that gets used to explain how neurotransmitters work, different botanicals will have specific effects on different energetic fields.

Any oil would help enhance relaxation and ground into the physical sensations of an energy healing session; an intentionally-selected oil could even further enhance the effectiveness of the energy work by allowing the practitioner to more specifically target intended energies. Astrology also incorporates elemental aspects at a fundamental level (elemental compatibility is at the core of assessing the effect of aspects, alignments and transits, for example), so you can see how a carefully-selected meditation oil from the Astrology range could have powerful results.

Of course, if this information is a little overwhelming, simply applying the meditation oil you have been working with prior to your appointment (or asking your practitioner if they are willing to incorporate in the treatment) will still enhance your treatment without needing to understand all the nuts and bolts.

However, if you are an energy practitioner (or seeker of metaphysical knowledge) and want to understand more about energy bodies, vibrational healing tools (such as essential oils and crystals) and how to incorporate into your energy healing practice, you may be interested in reading up on our upcoming courses here.

7) Step up your rituals

For all the reasons mentioned above, Vibe Meditation Oils can also be a powerful addition to any of your spiritual rituals. Be it a Full-Moon Ceremony, a soulful healing bath ritual or using a specific astrological transit to connect to an archetypal energy (like honouring Jupiter in Taurus to call in abundance, an energy these archetypes both carry in them), .

A ritual is a type of alchemy, so intentionally-selected vibrational tools can really help add to your intention, almost as if you are clearly guiding the universe towards the energy you would like to “tune yourself” to.

Again, the meditation oils carrying not only botanical energetic signatures but also having been formulated to cover the “full gamut of the sky” (the 12 astrological signs) will allow you to design to connect to various energy bodies as well as a multitude of archetypes.

Adding an intentional-selected oil to a ritualised activity of any kind will amplify the energy, which you can further continue to compound by adding additional elements. Crystals, sound medicine, sacred symbolism (totems, images and symbols) all work through your senses to help you further access the same set of energies using the same principles as the essential oils. You can design all elements to support the same singular theme, and as your practice develops, you can vary symbolism combine . An example below:
